Obstetric Care
Dr. Ronan is a Procedural Rural General Practitioner and has practised Obstetrics since 1983 and is pleased to continue antenatal and postnatal care at the Yarrawonga Medical Clinic. He has adequate training and qualification by diploma.
Pregnancy diagnosis and management is offered, focused around antenatal care.
Patients may need to be referred to other hospitals for Specialist care, and delivery, including Caesarean Sections.
We encourage women contemplating pregnancy to seek pre-pregnancy counselling. It is highly recommended that women commence folic acid prior to pregnancy. Vaccination advice is available.
Circumcision
Dr. Ronan is a Procedural Rural General Practitioner and has been performing neonatal circumcisions since 1983, and is pleased to continue this service at the Yarrawonga Medical Clinic.
We offer no view as to whether the procedure should be undertaken but support the parent’s decision after discussing the advantages and disadvantages at a counselling session.
We undertake this relatively minor but important procedure using the PlastiBell technique under local anaesthesia, in a safe clinical environment with an experienced nurse assisting.
The best age to do it is up to six weeks. Parents can be assured that their views will be respected and their baby will be in good hands.
The Yarrawonga Skin Cancer Clinics
Dr. Ronan is now providing focused skin cancer diagnosis and treatment on Tuesday and Thursday.
The service is directed toward accurate and prompt diagnosis and safe management, usually by surgical excision, with an emphasis on cosmetic outcome.
A range of related examination and treatment methods are used including cryotherapy, diathermy and chemical cautery etc. Surgery includes simple excisions, skin flaps and grafts, under local anaesthesia.
We have a comprehensive range of vaccines stocked on site
